Ingredients

  • 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon salt
Wet Ingredients
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened to room temperature Take butter out ahead of time to soften.
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 2 large eggs
Chocolate Chips
  • 2 cups chocolate chips Feel free to mix different types for added flavor.

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a bowl, whisk together the flour and baking soda. Set aside.
  3. In a large mixing bowl, cream the butter with granulated and brown sugar until smooth and fluffy.
  4. Add the salt, vanilla, and eggs. Beat until incorporated.
  5. Gradually mix in the flour mixture until just combined.
  6. Fold in the chocolate chips until evenly distributed.
  7. Drop generous scoops of dough (about 1/4 cup each) onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
Baking
  1. Bake for 12-15 minutes or until the edges are golden brown.
  2. Let them cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring them to a wire rack.

Notes

Chill the dough for 30 minutes before baking to help them hold their shape. Experiment with chocolate chip varieties to enhance flavor. Do not skip measurements for best results.
