Ingredients
  

For the filling
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 onion, diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • Salt and pepper to taste
For the sandwich
  • 4 slices bread You can use sourdough or hoagie rolls for variation.
  • 4 slices cheese (cheddar or American) Feel free to mix cheese types for a flavor boost.
  • Butter for grilling Butter generously for flavor.

Method
 

Cooking the filling
  1. Heat a skillet over medium heat, then add in the ground beef. Cook until browned.
  2. Toss in the diced onion and minced garlic. Stir until the onion is translucent.
  3. Season with paprika, salt, and pepper.
Preparing the bread
  1. Butter one side of each slice of bread generously.
Assembling the sandwich
  1. On the unbuttered side of two slices, layer the beef mixture and cheese.
  2. Top with the other slices of bread, buttered side out.
Grilling
  1. Place the sandwiches in the skillet over medium heat.
  2. Grill for about 3-4 minutes on each side or until golden brown and the cheese is melty.
Serving
  1. Remove from the skillet, slice in half, and serve warm.

Notes

Store leftovers in the fridge for about 3 days or in the freezer for up to a month. Reheat on low-medium heat to melt the cheese again.
