Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large bowl, cream together softened butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until smooth.
  3. Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla extract.
  4. In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt.
  5. Gradually blend the dry ingredients into the wet ingredients.
  6. Fold in the chocolate chips.
  7. Drop spoonfuls of the dough onto ungreased baking sheets.
  8. Bake for about 10-12 minutes until the edges are golden but the centers are still soft.
  9. Cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack.

Notes

For a different flavor, try using dark chocolate chips or adding nuts. Let the dough chill in the fridge for a bit if you want thicker cookies. Store in an airtight container at room temperature for about a week or freeze for up to 3 months.
