  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 2 cups chocolate chips

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large bowl, cream together the butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until smooth.
  3. Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla.
  4. In a separate bowl, combine the flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt.
  5. Gradually blend the dry ingredients into the creamed mixture.
  6. Fold in the chocolate chips.
  7. Drop by rounded tablespoons onto ungreased cookie sheets.
  8. Bake for 10-12 minutes or until the edges are set.
  9. Let cool on the baking sheets for a few minutes before transferring to wire racks to cool completely.

Notes

Store the cookies in an airtight container at room temperature for up to a week or freeze for up to three months. For a perfect texture, avoid overmixing after adding the flour. Adding a pinch of sea salt on top before baking enhances sweetness.
