- Start by adding the red chili flakes, minced garlic, salt, and black pepper to a heat-proof bowl.
- In a small pot, set over low-medium heat, pour in the oil.
- Heat the oil for just 2-3 minutes. Be careful not to let it boil.
- Once heated, carefully pour the hot oil into the bowl with your red chili flakes. Stir well while the chili flakes sizzle to prevent them from overcooking.
- Allow the mixture to cool to room temperature.
- Once cool, transfer the oil into a mason jar or similar airtight container.
- Store it in the fridge for up to 6 months, and enjoy with any dish!
Notes
Make sure to use a clean spoon to scoop some out to maintain freshness and prevent contamination. Adjust the amount of chili flakes based on your heat tolerance.
