Ingredients
  

For the spaghetti
  • 8 oz Spaghetti Cook according to package instructions.
For the meat sauce
  • 1 lb Ground beef Can be swapped for turkey for a leaner option.
  • 2 tbsp Olive oil For sautéing.
  • 1 medium Onion, chopped Sauté until softened.
  • 2 cloves Garlic, minced Use fresh for best flavor.
  • 1 can Canned tomatoes Crushed or diced.
  • 2 tbsp Tomato paste To thicken the sauce.
  • 1 tbsp Italian seasoning To enhance the flavor.
  • 1 tsp Salt Adjust to taste.
  • 1/2 tsp Pepper Adjust to taste.
  • 1/2 cup Parmesan cheese, grated For serving.

Method
 

Cooking the Spaghetti
  1. Cook spaghetti according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.
Making the Meat Sauce
  1. In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat.
  2. Add chopped onion and minced garlic, and sauté until softened.
  3. Add ground beef and cook until browned.
  4. Stir in canned tomatoes, tomato paste, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper.
  5. Simmer the sauce for about 15-20 minutes until fragrant.
Serving
  1. Serve the meat sauce over the spaghetti and top with grated parmesan cheese.

Notes

This dish can be stored in the fridge for 3-4 days or frozen for up to 3 months. Reheat in the microwave with a splash of water to keep it moist. Adding a splash of red wine while simmering can enhance the flavor.
