Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line your baking sheets with parchment paper.
- In a bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt; set aside.
- In another bowl, cream together the butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
- Beat in the eggs one at a time, then add the vanilla extract.
- Gradually mix in the dry ingredients until just combined.
- Fold in the caramel chips and optional chocolate chips.
- Scoop dough onto the baking sheets, spacing them 2 inches apart.
- Sprinkle with flaky sea salt just before baking.
Baking
- Bake for 10-12 minutes until the edges are golden.
- Let cool for 5 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack.
Notes
Chill the cookie dough for 30 minutes if you prefer thicker cookies. You can substitute half the flour with oat flour for a gluten-free version. Drizzle caramel sauce on top before serving for extra flavor.
