Ingredients
  

Meatball Mixture
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1/2 cup bread crumbs
  • 1/4 cup onion, finely chopped
  • 1 piece egg
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
  • to taste Salt and pepper
Gravy
  • 2 cups beef broth
  • 1 cup mushrooms, sliced
  • 1/4 cup flour
For Serving
  • to taste Creamy mashed potatoes

Method
 

Preparation
  1. In a bowl, mix ground beef, bread crumbs, onion, egg, garlic powder, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper until well combined.
  2. Form the mixture into bite-sized meatballs.
Cooking
  1. In a skillet, brown the meatballs on all sides and then set aside.
  2. In the same skillet, add mushrooms and cook until soft.
  3. Sprinkle flour over the mushrooms and stir to combine.
  4. Gradually add beef broth, stirring constantly until the gravy thickens.
  5. Return the meatballs to the skillet, cover, and simmer for about 20 minutes.
  6. Serve meatballs and gravy over creamy mashed potatoes.

Notes

Use fresh herbs to elevate the flavor. Consider using ground turkey or plant-based beef for alternatives. Gravy thickening can be adjusted with more flour or cornstarch if desired.
