Ingredients

Main Ingredients
  • 450 g lean ground beef
  • 30 g butter
  • 1 small yellow onion, diced
  • 1 small green bell pepper, diced
  • 230 g brown mushrooms, minced
  • 30 g ketchup
  • 240 ml beef broth
  • 225 g provolone cheese, chopped or shredded
  • 6 pieces brioche hamburger buns

Method

Preparation
  1. In a hot pan, cook the lean ground beef until browned. Once done, remove from the pan and set aside.
  2. In the same pan, melt the butter. Add the diced onions, bell peppers, and minced mushrooms. Sauté until they become nicely browned.
  3. In a bowl, mix together beef broth, ketchup, salt, and pepper. Pour this mixture into the sautéed veggies and simmer until it thickens.
  4. Return the browned beef to the pan and stir everything together.
  5. Turn off the heat and mix in the provolone cheese until it's beautifully melted.
  6. Butter and toast the brioche buns separately until they’re golden.
  7. Fill the toasted buns with the cheesy beef mixture and enjoy warm!

Notes

For a variation, use vegetarian ground meat or a mix of black beans and lentils. Leftovers can be stored in the fridge for up to 3 days or frozen for up to 2 months. Reheat separately before serving.
