  • 2 cups shredded cheese Mix of your choice, e.g., cheddar, mozzarella.
  • 1 tablespoon dry mustard Adds flavor to the egg mixture.

  • 1 cup milk Whole milk works best, but feel free to use low-fat.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Cook the sausage in a skillet until browned, then drain excess fat.
  3. In a large bowl, whisk together eggs, milk, dry mustard, salt, and pepper.
  4. Layer bread cubes in a greased baking dish.
  5. Add the cooked sausage on top, followed by the cheese and herbs.
  6. Pour the egg mixture evenly over the top.
  7. Cover and refrigerate overnight.
Baking
  1. In the morning, uncover and bake for 45-55 minutes until set and golden.
  2. Let it cool slightly before serving.

Notes

Slice into squares and serve warm, garnished with fresh herbs. Store leftovers in the fridge for 3-4 days or freeze up to 3 months. Reheat in the microwave or oven.
