  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened Make sure it's softened for easier mixing.
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 cup cooked bacon, crumbled Can substitute with olives or peppers if avoiding bacon.
  • 1/4 cup green onions, chopped
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1/2 cup chopped nuts or seeds (optional, for coating) Adds crunch if desired.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. In a mixing bowl, combine softened cream cheese, shredded cheddar cheese, crumbled bacon, green onions, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Mix until well combined.
  2. Use your hands to form the mixture into small balls, about 1 inch in diameter.
  3. If desired, roll the cheese balls in chopped nuts or seeds to coat.
  4. Place the cheese balls on a serving platter and refrigerate for about 30 minutes to firm up.
  5. Serve chilled as appetizers or snacks.

Notes

These cheese balls can be made in advance and stored in the fridge for up to 5 days or frozen for up to a month. To thaw, place in the fridge overnight.
