Preparation
- Prepare a Bain-Marie by filling a small pot with 1/2 cup of water and bringing it to a boil.
- Grab a large heatproof bowl and place it over the pot.
- Throw in the unsalted butter and marshmallows, whisking continuously until you get a smooth paste (2-4 minutes).
- Carefully remove the bowl using oven mitts and mix in salt and food coloring.
- In a separate bowl, add the Rice Bubbles and pour the marshmallow mix over them, stirring well.
- Oil your hands and shape the treats into ovals, then use a butter knife to create a dip in each brain.
- Use a toothpick dipped in food coloring to draw veins on the brains.
Storage
- Store these spooky delights in an airtight container for up to a week.
Notes
Use cooking spray on your hands while shaping to prevent stickiness. Mix in edible glitter for sparkle or use various colors of food dye for decorating. For a twist, replace Rice Bubbles with chocolate puffed rice or mini chocolate chips.
