  • 2 pieces chicken breasts Boneless, skinless
  • 1 cup orzo pasta Uncooked
  • 2 cups chicken broth Low-sodium recommended
  • 1 cup heavy cream For a rich sauce
  • 1 cup shredded cheese Mozzarella or Parmesan
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil For cooking
  • to taste Salt and pepper For seasoning
  • for garnish Fresh parsley Chopped

Method
 

Cooking the Chicken
  1. In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat.
  2. Season the chicken breasts with salt and pepper, then add to the skillet.
  3. Cook until golden brown and cooked through, about 6-7 minutes per side. Remove the chicken from the skillet and set aside.
Preparing the Dish
  1. In the same skillet, add the minced garlic and sauté until fragrant, about 1 minute.
  2. Add the orzo and chicken broth to the skillet. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat to low.
  3. Cover and simmer until the orzo is cooked, about 10-12 minutes.
  4. Stir in the heavy cream and shredded cheese until well combined.
  5. Add the cooked chicken back to the skillet.
  6. Cook for an additional 2-3 minutes until heated through.
Serving
  1. Garnish with fresh parsley and serve warm.

Notes

Serve with a side salad for added freshness. Leftover Marry Me Chicken Orzo can be stored in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days, or frozen for about 2 months.
