Ingredients
  

For the Steak Bowl
  • 1 lb tender steak Can be swapped with grilled chicken or tofu for alternatives.
  • 2 pieces bell peppers (sliced) Any color of bell pepper can be used.
  • 1 cup shredded cheese Cheddar or other varieties can be used.
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil For cooking the steak.
  • to taste Salt and pepper
Optional Toppings
  • 1 avocado For added richness.
  • 1 sour cream For creaminess.
  • 1 salsa For a zesty punch.

Method
 

Cooking
  1. Heat the olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat.
  2. Season the steak with salt and pepper, then cook in the skillet until desired doneness, about 4-5 minutes per side.
  3. Remove steak from skillet and let rest before slicing thinly.
  4. In the same skillet, add sliced bell peppers and sauté until tender, about 3-4 minutes.
  5. In a bowl, layer the sautéed peppers and slices of steak.
  6. Top with shredded cheese and any additional toppings if desired. Serve warm.

Notes

Letting the steak rest before slicing helps keep it juicy. Feel free to mix up seasonings and add extra vegetables for more nutrients.
