For the Marinade
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced Use fresh garlic for the best flavor.
  • 1 tablespoon ginger, grated Use fresh ginger for optimal taste.
  • 1 tablespoon honey or sugar Brown sugar can enhance the flavor.
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • to taste salt and pepper
For Serving
  • 4 pieces chicken breasts Use thawed if previously frozen.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. In a bowl, mix together soy sauce, garlic, ginger, honey or sugar, sesame oil, and a dash of salt and pepper to create the marinade.
  2. Place the chicken breasts in a resealable plastic bag or shallow dish and pour the marinade over them. Marinate in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes, or up to 4 hours for more flavor.
Cooking
  1. Preheat the grill or oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. For grilling, cook the chicken for about 6-7 minutes on each side, or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C).
  3. For baking, place the chicken on a baking sheet and cook for about 20-25 minutes.
Serving
  1. Serve the grilled or baked chicken with steamed rice and vegetables.

Notes

Store leftovers in the fridge for up to 4 days in an airtight container, or freeze for up to 3 months. Thaw in the fridge overnight before reheating. Warm in the oven or a skillet on low heat to keep juicy.
