  • 1 lb ground beef Can substitute with ground turkey or chicken.
  • 1 cup cream cheese Add towards the end for optimal texture.
  • 1 cup shredded provolone or mozzarella cheese For a spicier kick, try pepper jack cheese.
  • 1/2 cup diced bell peppers Add any color bell pepper you like.
  • 1/2 cup diced onions Can use red or yellow onions.
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • to taste Salt and pepper
  • Lettuce leaves Optional for wrapping.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. In a skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef until browned. Drain excess fat.
  2. Add diced bell peppers and onions to the skillet and cook until softened.
  3. Stir in the cream cheese and shredded cheese until melted and everything is well combined.
  4. Season with garlic powder, salt, and pepper.
  5. Spoon the mixture onto lettuce leaves or serve as is.

Notes

For added variation, mix in sautéed mushrooms or jalapeños. The rolls can also be prepared ahead of time and assembled later. Store leftovers in the fridge for up to 3 days or freeze for longer storage.
