- In a mixing bowl, combine ground beef, breadcrumbs, chopped onion, egg, salt, and pepper. Mix well and form into patties.
- Heat vegetable oil in a skillet over medium heat. Add the patties and cook until browned on both sides. Remove and set aside.
- In the same skillet, add mushrooms and sauté until softened.
- Sprinkle flour over mushrooms and stir. Pour in beef broth and Worcestershire sauce, stirring until the gravy thickens.
- Return patties to the skillet, covering them with gravy. Simmer for about 10 minutes.
- Serve Salisbury steak with creamy mashed potatoes.
Notes
Store leftover Salisbury steak in the fridge for about 3-4 days or freeze for up to 3 months. Reheat in the microwave or on the stove until hot. Don’t skip the simmering step to let the flavors blend.
