  • 1 cup vegetable oil Can substitute with sesame or olive oil.
  • 2 tablespoons chili flakes Adjust to taste for heat level.
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced Use fresh for best flavor.
  • 1 tablespoon ginger, minced Use fresh for best flavor.
  • 1 tablespoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 1 teaspoon sesame seeds (optional)
  • 1 teaspoon crushed red pepper (optional)

Method
 

Preparation
  1. In a small saucepan, heat the vegetable oil over medium heat until hot.
  2. Add minced garlic and ginger, stirring for about 1-2 minutes until fragrant, being careful not to burn.
  3. Remove from heat and stir in chili flakes, salt, sugar, and sesame seeds, if using.
  4. Let the mixture cool to room temperature.
  5. Transfer to a jar and store in the refrigerator.

Notes

Use fresh ingredients for the best flavor. Allow the oil to cool completely before storing to avoid spoilage. Store in an airtight jar in the refrigerator for up to two weeks.
