- Season with salt and pepper.
- Bring the mixture to a boil, then reduce heat and let simmer for 20-30 minutes, stirring occasionally.
Serving
- Serve hot in a bowl, topped with grated cheese, sour cream, or fresh cilantro. Serve with crusty bread, tortilla chips, or over rice.
Notes
Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3-4 days. It can also be frozen for up to 3 months. For added flavor, consider adding bell peppers or jalapeƱos.
