Ingredients
  

For the Dough
  • 3.5 cups all-purpose flour
  • 0.25 cups granulated sugar
  • 1 packet (2¼ tsp) active dry yeast
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 0.5 tsp salt
  • 1 cup whole milk, warmed Ensure it's warm, not hot
  • 0.25 cups unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 large egg
  • 2 tbsp red food coloring
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
For the Filling
  • 0.5 cups unsalted butter, softened
  • 0.75 cups brown sugar, packed
  • 2 tbsp ground cinnamon
  • 0.5 cups mini chocolate chips Optional
For the Frosting
  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 0.5 cups unsalted butter, softened
  • 4 cups powdered sugar
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 2-4 tbsp milk To adjust consistency

Method
 

Preparation
  1. In a large bowl, combine the flour, sugar, yeast, baking powder, and salt.
  2. Mix in the warmed milk, melted butter, egg, red food coloring, and vanilla.
  3. Knead until smooth.
Prepare the Filling
  1. In a separate bowl, mix the softened butter, brown sugar, and cinnamon.
  2. If you’re feeling adventurous, toss in some mini chocolate chips!
Roll and Assemble
  1. Roll out the dough into a rectangle, spread the filling evenly, then roll it up tightly.
  2. Slice into rolls.
Bake the Rolls
  1. Place rolls in a greased baking dish and let them rise.
  2. Bake at 350°F (175°C) until bubbly and golden.
Make the Frosting
  1. Beat softened cream cheese and butter together, then add powdered sugar, vanilla, and enough milk for a smooth consistency.
Frost and Serve
  1. Drizzle the frosting over the warm rolls. Voila!
