  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter Melted
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs At room temperature
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/3 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 cup chocolate chips

  • 1 piece Heart-shaped cookie cutter
  • 1 piece 8-inch square baking pan

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease an 8-inch square baking pan, lining it with parchment paper.
  2. In a microwave-safe bowl, melt the butter slowly.
  3. Stir in the sugar, eggs, and vanilla until smooth.
  4. Add cocoa powder, flour, salt, and baking powder, mixing until just combined.
  5. Fold in chocolate chips.
  6. Spread the batter in the prepared pan, making sure it’s even.
Baking
  1. Bake for 20-25 minutes, checking with a toothpick for moist crumbs (not wet batter).
  2. Let cool completely before using a heart-shaped cookie cutter to cut out brownies.
Serving
  1. Serve brownies warm for a melty-chocolate experience or let them cool and layer them next to some vanilla ice cream.

Notes

For a more fun cutting experience, let brownies chill in the fridge after baking. You can customize toppings with nuts, sprinkles, or sea salt. They stay good for about 3-5 days at room temperature or up to a week in the fridge.
