Ingredients
  

Dry Ingredients
  • 1 cup whole wheat flour
  • 1/2 cup almond flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
Wet Ingredients
  • 1/4 cup coconut sugar
  • 1/4 cup unsweetened applesauce
  • 2 tablespoons coconut oil, melted
  • 1/2 cup almond milk
  • extra cinnamon and sugar for coating

Preparation
  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a bowl, mix the whole wheat flour, almond flour, baking powder, salt, and cinnamon together.
  3. In another bowl, combine the coconut sugar, applesauce, melted coconut oil, and almond milk.
  4. Gradually add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients and stir until just combined.
  5. Scoop small amounts of dough and roll them into bite-sized balls.
  6. Place the dough balls on the prepared baking sheet.
  7. Bake in the preheated oven for about 15-20 minutes or until golden brown.
  8. While still warm, roll the churro bites in a mix of cinnamon and coconut sugar.
  9. Serve warm and enjoy your guilt-free treats!

Notes

Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days or freeze them for up to a month. Don’t skip the step of rolling them in that cinnamon and sugar mix while they’re warm, as it's essential for flavor!
