Preparation
- Heat olive oil in a large pot over medium-high heat.
- Add onion and cook for 3-4 minutes until soft.

Cooking
- Add ground beef, breaking it up with a spoon. Cook for 5-7 minutes until browned.
- Stir in chili powder, cumin, smoked paprika, and cayenne pepper, cooking for 1-2 minutes.
- Add tomato paste and mix well, cooking for another 2-3 minutes.
- Pour in diced tomatoes, beef broth, and season with salt and pepper. Bring to a simmer.
- Reduce heat and simmer for 20-25 minutes until thickened.
- Stir in kidney beans and black beans, simmer for another 10-15 minutes.
- Taste and adjust seasoning if necessary, adding more broth if too thick.
Serving
- Ladle chili into bowls and top with favorite toppings.
