Preparation
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Lay the flank steak on a cutting board and pound it to an even thickness.
- In a bowl, mix the bread crumbs, Parmesan cheese, parsley, and egg. Season with salt and pepper.
- Spread the mixture evenly over the steak and roll it up tightly.
- Secure the roll with kitchen twine or toothpicks.
Cooking
- In a skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat and sear the roll on all sides until browned.
- Transfer the roll to a baking dish and pour the tomato sauce over it.
- Cover with foil and bake for 45 minutes.
- Remove the foil and bake for an additional 15 minutes.
- Let it rest for a few minutes before slicing and serving.
Notes
Let your Braciole rest after baking for easier slicing. For longer storage, this dish can be frozen for about 3 months. Serve with creamy polenta, garlicky green beans, or a simple Caesar salad.
