  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
Wet Ingredients
  • 3/4 cup light brown sugar (firmly packed)
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup unsalted softened butter Ensure butter is softened at room temperature.

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a bowl, whisk together the flour, salt, and baking soda.
  3. In another bowl, cream the softened butter, light brown sugar, and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
  4. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the creamed mixture, mixing until well combined.
  5. Drop spoonfuls of the dough onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
Baking
  1. Bake for 10-12 minutes or until the edges are lightly golden.
  2. Allow to cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack.

Notes

For thicker cookies, chill the dough for 30 minutes before baking. Use parchment paper to prevent sticking.
