Ingredients

Wet Ingredients
  • 1/2 cup oil or 1 stick (1/2 cup) melted butter
  • 2 pieces eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
Dry Ingredients
  • 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder Consider using dark chocolate cocoa powder for richer taste.
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup flour Can substitute with almond flour for gluten-free option.
  • 1/4 tsp salt
Add-ins
  • 1/2 cup chocolate chips Try not to eat them all before adding!
  • 1/2 cup chopped walnuts Can replace with pecans or omit if nut-free.

Method

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350 degrees and grease a small baking pan (8×8).
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine the oil or melted butter, cocoa powder, and sugar. Mix until smooth.
  3. Add the eggs and vanilla, mixing until well combined.
  4. Stir in the flour and salt until just mixed.
Baking
  1. Spread the batter into your prepared pan.
  2. Bake for 18-20 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.

Notes

For best results, don't overmix after adding the flour to keep brownies tender. Let them cool completely before cutting for cleaner edges. Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3 days at room temperature or freeze for up to 2 months.
