Ingredients
  

Churro Dough
  • 1 cup water
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Coating
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon

Method
 

Preparation
  1. In a saucepan, combine water, butter, sugar, and salt. Bring it to a boil.
  2. Stir in the flour until the mixture forms a ball. Remove from heat and let it cool a bit.
  3. Beat in the eggs one at a time until the mixture is smooth and glossy.
  4. Mix in the vanilla extract.
  5. Transfer the dough to a piping bag fitted with a star tip.
Cooking
  1. Preheat the air fryer to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Pipe small lengths of dough onto parchment paper and freeze for 10-15 minutes.
  3. Spray the air fryer basket with cooking spray.
  4. Place churro bites in the basket, ensuring they are not touching.
  5. Air fry for 10-12 minutes until golden brown.
  6. In a bowl, mix together sugar and cinnamon. Toss warm churro bites into it immediately after cooking.
  7. Serve warm.

Notes

Use a star tip for the piping to give that classic churro shape. Freezing the dough is crucial for holding shape during cooking. Serve with chocolate sauce for dipping!
