Ingredients

Base Ingredients
  • 4 cups broth (chicken, beef, or vegetable)
  • 1 lb meat (optional, think chicken or sausage) Optional ingredient
  • 2 cups mixed veggies (like carrots, potatoes, and onions)
  • 1 cup beans or lentils
  • 2 tbsp herbs (fresh or dried)
  • to taste spices (salt and pepper) Don't be shy with seasoning!
  • 1/2 cup cream or milk For a velvety finish if desired

Method

Preparation
  1. Chop up your vegetables and any meat. No need to make them perfect—soups are forgiving!
  2. Add everything into the crockpot: broth, veggies, meat (if using), beans, herbs, and spices.
  3. Give it a gentle stir to mingle all those lovely flavors.
Cooking
  1. Set your crockpot on low for 6-8 hours or high for 3-4 hours, depending on your schedule.
  2. Taste and adjust the seasoning before serving. Maybe it needs a dash more salt to really sing?
  3. Serve and devour! Pair with some crusty bread for the ultimate cozy experience.

Notes

Prep ahead: Chop your veggies the night before and toss them in the fridge. Add cream last: If your recipe calls for it, stir in heavy cream just before serving for a luxurious touch. Mix and match: Don’t have an ingredient? Experiment with substitutes—kale instead of spinach or use quinoa for a twist!
