  • 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon salt
Wet Ingredients
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, room temperature
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 2 teaspoons pure vanilla extract
  • 2 large eggs

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a small bowl, whisk together the flour and baking soda; set aside.
  3. In a large bowl, using a mixer, cream together the butter, granulated sugar, brown sugar, and salt until smooth.
  4. Beat in the vanilla and eggs until well combined.
  5. Gradually add the flour mixture to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.
  6. Stir in the chocolate chips.
  7. Drop rounded tablespoons of dough onto ungreased baking sheets.
  8. Bake for 9-11 minutes until the edges are golden.
  9. Let cool on the baking sheets for a few minutes before transferring them to wire racks to cool completely.

Notes

Chill the dough for at least 30 minutes before baking for better flavor and texture. Store cookies in an airtight container for up to a week at room temperature.
