Preparation
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Line your baking sheets with parchment paper.
- In a bowl, mix together flour, baking soda, and salt; then set aside.
- In a large bowl, cream together the butter, granulated sugar, brown sugar, and vanilla until smooth.
- Beat in the eggs one at a time, then gradually blend in the dry ingredients.
- Stir in the chocolate chips thoroughly.
Baking
- Drop large tablespoons of dough onto the prepared baking sheets, spacing them a few inches apart.
- Bake for 12-15 minutes or until the borders are golden brown but the centers are still soft.
- Allow to cool on the baking sheets for a few minutes before transferring to wire racks to cool completely.
Notes
Cookies keep well in an airtight container for about a week at room temperature or up to two weeks in the refrigerator. For longer storage, freeze them for up to three months.
