Preparation
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, and salt.
- In another bowl, cream the softened butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until smooth.
- Beat in the egg and vanilla extract.
- Gradually mix in the dry ingredients until just combined.
- Fold in the chocolate chips.
Assembly
- In a cast-iron skillet, spread half of the cookie dough evenly.
- Spoon dollops of Nutella in the center and cover with the remaining cookie dough.
- Sprinkle flaky sea salt on top.
Baking
- Bake for 25-30 minutes or until golden brown.
- Serve warm directly in the pan.
Notes
For a vegan version, substitute unsalted butter with coconut oil and use flaxseed instead of the egg. Experiment with mix-ins like peanut butter chips or chopped nuts.
