Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large bowl, mix together the softened butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until creamy.
  3. Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition, then stir in the vanilla extract.
  4. In another bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt.
  5. Gradually add the dry mixture to the wet ingredients, stirring until well combined.
  6. Fold in the chocolate chips.
  7. Drop tablespoon-sized balls of dough onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
Baking
  1. Bake for 10-12 minutes or until the edges are golden brown.
  2. Let them cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

For thicker cookies, chill the dough for 30 minutes before baking. You can swap half the chocolate chips for nuts for a crunchy variation. Don't forget to sprinkle sea salt on top before baking for a gourmet touch.
