Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- In a large mixing bowl, mix the butter with the sugars on medium speed until creamy.
- Add the eggs, one at a time, along with the vanilla. Mix on low until combined.
- Stir baking soda into the warm water, then add it to the batter.
- Mix in the baking powder and salt. Gradually stir in the flour.
- Fold in the chocolate chips.
Baking
- Drop heaping 2 tablespoon-sized balls of dough about 2 inches apart on baking sheets.
- Bake for 12-13 minutes, or until golden. Remove from the oven, let cool, and transfer to a wire rack.
