  • 1 bag frozen tater tots For the base of the casserole.
  • 2 cans chili (with or without beans) Can use any preferred variety.
  • 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese More cheese can be added for a richer flavor.
  • 1 cup sour cream To serve on top.
  • 1/2 cup chopped green onions For garnish and added flavor.

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. In a large baking dish, spread the frozen tater tots evenly across the bottom.
  3. Pour the chili over the tater tots, spreading it evenly.
  4. Top with shredded cheddar cheese.
Cooking
  1. Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  2. Remove from the oven and let it cool for a few minutes.
  3. Serve with a dollop of sour cream and sprinkle with chopped green onions.

Notes

This casserole can be stored in the fridge for up to 3-4 days or frozen for up to 3 months. Reheat in the oven or microwave. For variations, consider using meatless chili for a vegetarian option or Greek yogurt instead of sour cream for a lighter version.
