Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- In a mixing bowl, combine the diced apples, caramel sauce, sugar, cinnamon, and lemon juice. Mix well and set aside.
- Roll out the gluten-free pie crust and cut it into circles (about 4-5 inches in diameter) using a cookie cutter or a sharp knife.
- Place a spoonful of the apple caramel filling onto one half of each pie crust circle.
- Fold the other half over the filling and press the edges to seal. Use a fork to crimp the edges.
- In a small bowl, whisk together the egg and milk to create an egg wash. Brush the tops of the hand pies with this mixture.
- Place the hand pies on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
Baking
- Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes or until golden brown.
- Allow to cool slightly before serving.
Notes
Serve warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream or drizzle with extra caramel for a delicious treat. Store in an airtight container for 3-5 days in the fridge, or wrap tightly and freeze for up to 3 months.
