Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat until it turns golden brown. Remove from heat and let cool slightly.
- In a mixing bowl, combine the browned butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar. Mix well.
- Add the egg and vanilla extract, mixing until smooth.
- In another bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt. Gradually add to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.
- Fold in the chocolate chips and pecans.
Baking
- Scoop tablespoons of dough onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
- Bake for 10-12 minutes or until the edges are golden.
- Let cool on the sheet for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
Notes
Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to a week or freeze them for longer storage. Don’t skip the cooling time to let flavors develop.
