Ingredients
  

For the Casserole
  • 10 oz buttermilk biscuits Use refrigerated biscuit dough.
  • 1 lb breakfast sausage Browned and drained.
  • 6 large eggs Whisked with milk.
  • ½ cup whole milk For richness.
  • 2 cups shredded cheese Divided into two portions.
  • 1 tsp salt To taste.
  • 1 tsp black pepper To taste.
  • 2 cups water
  • 1 packet sausage gravy mix Follow packet instructions.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Press the biscuit dough into a greased 9x13 pan.
  2. Brown the sausage in a skillet, drain the excess fat, and layer it on top of the biscuit dough.
  3. Whisk together the eggs, milk, salt, and pepper, then pour the mixture over the sausage.
  4. Add 1 cup of cheese on top.
  5. Prepare the gravy according to the packet instructions, let it cool slightly, then pour it over everything.
  6. Sprinkle the remaining cheese on top.
  7. Bake in a preheated oven at 350°F for about 35 minutes.
  8. Rest for 10 minutes before cutting into it.

Notes

For the best flavor, brown the sausage well, and let the casserole rest after baking. You can add spinach or bell peppers for a veggie boost.
