Ingredients
  

Dry Ingredients
  • 1 1/3 cups all-purpose flour, spooned and leveled
  • 1/2 tsp baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • 3/4 tsp kosher salt
Wet Ingredients
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted and cooled
  • 1/2 cup light brown sugar, packed
  • 1/3 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 large egg
Chocolate Chips
  • 1 1/2 cups semisweet chocolate chips
  • Flaky sea salt, for sprinkling on top

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, baking powder, and kosher salt.
  3. In a separate bowl, combine melted butter, light brown sugar, and granulated sugar until smooth.
  4. Mix in your egg and vanilla extract, blending until creamy.
  5. Gradually fold the dry mixture into the wet, being careful not to overmix.
  6. Stir in the chocolate chips.
  7. Use a cookie scoop to drop generous dollops onto your prepared baking sheet.
  8. Bake for about 10-12 minutes or until golden brown around the edges.
  9. Once out of the oven, sprinkle more chocolate chips and flaky sea salt on top.
  10. Let cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes and then transfer to a wire rack.

Notes

Chill your dough for about 30 minutes for better flavor. You can experiment with sugars, types of chocolate, and mix-ins for variations.
