Method
Preparation
- Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Take 10 of the Oreo cookies, split them in half, and gently scrape off the cream. The cream-less halves will become your bat wings.
- Grab the remaining 20 Oreo halves without cream and break them in half to find pairs that are similar in size.
- In a microwave-safe bowl, melt ½ cup of chocolate chips in 30-second bursts, stirring in between until smooth.
Assembly
- Attach two broken Oreo halves (wings) to one cream-filled Oreo half with melted chocolate.
- Top with another cream-filled half and set it on the baking tray.
- Use a toothpick or skewer to dab melted chocolate on the top of the bat's head and stick two mini chocolate chips as horns.
- Dab more melted chocolate in the middle of the cookie and add candy eyes.
- Allow the chocolate to harden before serving, or refrigerate to speed up the process.
Notes
Serve Bat Oreos on a spooky platter and pair with a dark-themed drink. Store in an airtight container for freshness. They can last up to a week at room temperature or a couple of months if frozen.
