Ingredients
  

Dry Ingredients
  • 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
Wet Ingredients
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened Use softened, unsalted butter for the best texture.
  • 3/4 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract Whisper sweet things to your vanilla!
  • 2 large eggs Add eggs one at a time.
Chocolate Chips
  • 2 cups chocolate chips Mix semi-sweet and dark for depth of flavor.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt.
  3. In a large mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
  4. Beat in the vanilla extract and eggs, one at a time.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.
  6. Fold in the chocolate chips.
  7. Drop rounded tablespoons of dough onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  8. Bake for 10-12 minutes or until the edges are golden.
  9. Let them cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

If you want thicker cookies, chill the dough for about an hour before baking. Serve them with a tall glass of cold milk or create ice cream sandwiches.
