  • 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
Wet Ingredients
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened Ensure the butter is at room temperature.
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 3/4 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 large eggs
Mix-ins
  • 2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips Feel free to use dark chocolate chips for a richer flavor.

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, and salt.
  3. In another large bowl, cream together the softened butter, granulated sugar, brown sugar, and vanilla extract until smooth.
  4. Add in the eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition.
  5. Gradually blend the dry mixture into the wet mixture.
  6. Stir in the chocolate chips!
Baking
  1. Drop tablespoon-sized balls of dough onto ungreased baking sheets.
  2. Bake for 9 to 11 minutes, or until the edges are golden but the center stays soft.
  3. Let cool on baking sheets for a few minutes before transferring to wire racks to cool completely.

Notes

For thicker cookies, chill the dough for 30 minutes before baking. Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to a week.
