Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 425℉.
- Scrub the sweet potatoes with a vegetable brush under cool running water to remove dirt.
- Pat them dry with a kitchen towel.
- Use a fork to pierce the skin a few times to allow steam to escape.
- Place the sweet potatoes on a parchment or foil-lined rimmed baking sheet.
Baking
- Bake for about 40 to 60 minutes, depending on their size. Test doneness by inserting a knife into the thickest part; if it goes in without resistance, they're done!
Serving
- Once baked, split them down the center and fluff with a fork. Top with your favorite toppings.
Notes
Leftover baked sweet potatoes can be stored in the fridge for 3 to 5 days. Reheat in the microwave or oven. Variations include stuffing them with black beans, guacamole, or chili.
