Ingredients

Main ingredients
  • 6 pieces small boneless skinless chicken thighs
  • to taste Salt and black pepper To season chicken
  • 2 Tbsp salted butter, divided For searing and sautéing
  • 6 cloves garlic, minced Adds flavor
  • 3 Tbsp honey For sweetness
  • 2 Tbsp low sodium soy sauce For savory flavor
  • 1/2 tsp ground thyme
  • 1/2 tsp ground ginger

Method

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Pat the chicken thighs dry with paper towels and season both sides with salt and black pepper.
  3. In an oven-safe skillet, heat 1 tablespoon of butter over medium-high heat and sear the chicken for 4-5 minutes per side until golden brown. Remove and set aside.
Cooking
  1. Reduce heat to medium, add the remaining butter, and sauté minced garlic until fragrant.
  2. Whisk in honey, soy sauce, thyme, and ginger until smooth.
  3. Return chicken to the skillet, spoon the sauce over it, and then bake for 20-25 minutes.
Serving
  1. Serve garnished with parsley and your favorite sides.

Notes

Let chicken thighs rest for a few minutes after cooking to lock in those juices. Swap out honey for maple syrup for a fun twist. Use fresh ginger instead of ground for an extra zing in the flavor department. If you want some heat, throw in a pinch of red pepper flakes in the sauce.
