Ingredients

Main ingredients
  • 2 medium sweet potatoes (about 1 pound)
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 2 teaspoons kosher salt divided
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper

Method

Preparation
  1. Peel the sweet potatoes and chop off the ends. Slice them into 1/4-inch fry shapes.
  2. Fill a bowl with cold water and mix in 1.5 teaspoons of kosher salt. Toss the sliced potatoes into this salty bath and let them chill for 30 minutes.
  3. After 30 minutes, remove the potatoes from the water and pat them dry with a clean towel.
  4. Drizzle the dry potato slices with olive oil and stir until they are coated.
  5. In a small bowl, mix together the remaining salt, garlic powder, paprika, and black pepper. Sprinkle over the potatoes and stir for even seasoning.
  6. Preheat the air fryer to 380°F.
Cooking
  1. Once the air fryer is hot, add the fries in a single layer, making sure not to overlap.
  2. Cook for 13 minutes, turning halfway through, until they are lightly browned and crispy.
Serving
  1. Enjoy the fries immediately with your favorite dipping sauce.

Notes

Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to three days. Reheat in the air fryer for a few minutes to maintain crispiness.
