Preparation
- Peel the sweet potatoes and chop off the ends. Slice them into 1/4-inch fry shapes.
- Fill a bowl with cold water and mix in 1.5 teaspoons of kosher salt. Toss the sliced potatoes into this salty bath and let them chill for 30 minutes.
- After 30 minutes, remove the potatoes from the water and pat them dry with a clean towel.
- Drizzle the dry potato slices with olive oil and stir until they are coated.
- In a small bowl, mix together the remaining salt, garlic powder, paprika, and black pepper. Sprinkle over the potatoes and stir for even seasoning.
- Preheat the air fryer to 380°F.
Cooking
- Once the air fryer is hot, add the fries in a single layer, making sure not to overlap.
- Cook for 13 minutes, turning halfway through, until they are lightly browned and crispy.
Serving
- Enjoy the fries immediately with your favorite dipping sauce.
Notes
Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to three days. Reheat in the air fryer for a few minutes to maintain crispiness.
